Keeping Tabs | January 2022
It’s the second week of the new year, my planner is still left untouched. I’ve been working based on memory – what I think I should be doing today, what I feel I should be making today. I did write a few things on my personal journal; just really filled up the first page of it.
It’s unlike me. To be vulnerable, that is. As a very ‘Type A’ person and growing up a panganay (eldest), I’ve put up walls. Huffing-wolf-proof, brick walls. I do not like things and situations that I do not have control of. I have the tendency to go batshit at the slightest inconvenience. Being in my bubble is safe. Reasonable. Comfortable.
If I have learned anything the past two years, it’s that the universe gives zero fucks about carefully curated plans. No one is ever ready for anything, no matter how well thought out of a person you think you could be. So I want to be more comfortable being uncomfortable.
How liberating it would be if I could write as I think. Create without inhibition. At the same time, I want to be honest with myself. I am a very anxious person. Even more so in the past years. For me, what ifs are equally, if not more, scary as they are hopeful. So I know I will continue to grasp things too tightly – afraid to lose control – but I will try to let myself slip every now and then.
This year, I will be vulnerable. I will learn to let go. I will let things unfold.
Bursting the bubble,
Louise
