Keeping Tabs | Sept 2021 (Free Goodnotes Sticker)

A few days ’til the last quarter of 2021. I’d like to keep tab.

To be honest, my head space right now is just a swarm of Tiktok audios in different volume levels. I had no intention of writing tonight, but here I am — an attempt to pry myself off my phone and work things.

THING TABS

READ

My Book Depository orders from April-May still haven’t arrived. I don’t think they ever will at this point. A popular and notorious opinion: Philippine Post Office sucks, and apparently, it sucks even more in my province. I’ve also purchased quite a few books and zines since then. Been reading them on weekends or just whenever I want to. Newsletters, though, have been constants in keeping me company. Online na lang talaga lahat no, mga besh?

LISTEN

  • Don’t Be Sad by Ku One Chan – I posted about it at the start of the month.

  • Been obsessed with Fiji Blue! A lot of their songs, tbh, and not a day in September went by that I did not play Waves.

  • NCT 127 came back this month with their full album, Sticker. It’s a given that I’m still a simp for NCT. Lemonade slaps and yes, been dancing to it in the shower! TMI: I slipped in the shower once this month. Nanjan pa rin yung pasa jusko. I remember Music, Dance playing tapos *slow-mo falling sfx*. So I’ve been keeping the jamming to a minimum.

WATCH

  • Hometown Cha Cha Cha – oh thank God for the blessing that is Kim Seonho and his dimples! On the pilot week, I just really stared at Hong Dusik and say “ang gwapo… ang bait…” everytime he shows up on screen. Like how in the world is this REAL?! How is HE real? But idec, each new episode is like a vitamin that eases all of the past week’s worries away. Dasal ko na lang talaga ng isang Kim Seonho kahit generic version na lang plsss. Lord wag niyo po muna ko kukunin habang wala pa ‘to!
(You can download HD wallpapers I made for HCCC here!)

  • Strong Woman, Do Bong Soon – I decided to rewatch this mid-month after clips started re-appearing on my Tiktok. There’s a Season 2 reportedly in the works! I remember simping over Park Hyunsik then and years later, Ahn Minhyuk is STILL the freaking standard!! Sad (and happy?) to say, I finished it within a week. I wish it was longer. Or that S2 arrives soon. Imagine Minmin with superpowered twins… The chaos! The bruises! I ALREADY LOVE IT!

  • Hospital Playlist Season 2 ended this month. Let’s just say there’s still that hole in my heart and I can’t talk about it yet. Every Thursday with them though was just heartwarming and lovely! Thank you for being my quarantine barkada, two years in a row.

  • Seventeen In The SOOP makes me SO genuinely happy!! I mean GoSe already gives me that midweek boost, but seeing them so relaxed and just themselves in the SOOP made me love SVT even more. I miss friends! I miss going on trips. I actually miss drinking and having half my brain dead.

  • Yumi’s Cells – the cells are a delight! ANG GANDA! Visuals, audio, and all that! The animation is just too cute. I never thought I’d ship the main characters right away but by ep 3, I’m hooked. Bestie, ang saya and kinikilig ako. ISTG, 2021 K-drama line-up is just amazing!! (Dare I say, almost 2016 level. Heol!)

LIFE TABS

September has been wild and tiring. And that’s to say the least. We had COVID at home, but that’s for a different story. In other life things, I found serotonin from packages arriving. Here’s a tab of happy mail things:

  • We worked on a postcard book for Common Room and my copy arrived at the end of August!

  • My Hoshi and Jaemin dolls (Both pre-ordered in January. I don’t even want to know what I was thinking then with all the order forms I submitted)

  • Doyoung Blind Box! This may be the best thing I’ve bought. NO REGRETS GETTING THE WHOLE SET. They’re soooo cute. Doyoung is so cute! (I am acting as if the sando pics don’t exist.)

  • Reese’s Time Well Spent Badge – her enamel pin is just so pretty! I keep it in my work desk as a constant reminder to keep growing and keep going.

  • A bunch of sticker hoards from different shops and makers! I would like to say I’m using them for my personal journal, but let’s be honest, they’re mostly for designing polcas and toploaders! I also bought so many from ysa.creates. Her fanart is just so lovely! I’m excited to send them to friends.

In other obsessions I’ve had for quite a while – DIGITAL JOURNALING / DIARY! And watching A-hong‘s Journal With Me videos monthly. Aside from a personal monthly art spreads that I do, I’ve been using Goodnotes for a mini-log. (I’m also using A-hong’s diary template which she gives away for free huhu I luv her!) Tinatamad ako lately to print photos for my physical journal so I’ve been keeping it all digitally instead. So much easier to just drag and drop! I also get to collage a bit again because of this. Mostly though, it’s just snippets of photos and short notes from my days!

Goodnotes app is paid, but I swear, the one time payment is worth it. A high school friend reco-ed it earlier this year and so gave it a shot! It’ll be most useful if you’re a student since you can use it for notes and lectures, too. A-hong’s Objet app is also great, it’s just $1 and definitely worth the support. She gives away so many digital stickers in her vlogs!!

I’ve made a set of simple stickers I use as well for Goodnotes. Feel free to get it here or in the link below if you want to download them for your own personal use. You can print them for your physical journals, too! Do tag me in case you use it. Nag-eenjoy ako seeing other’s planners and designed polcas and spreads, ganon. It’s the closest I have to art tambays!

I can’t believe it’s almost October. 2021 is still just a blur to me, and yet it’s so near to ending already. I’ve stopped looking far into the future though. All I can process right now is that a new Hometown Cha ep comes out in less than 30 minutes. So I’m wrapping this up, lol! I wish you are happy today! I wish you have something to look forward to — a good song on shuffle, a new episode, a package arriving, or an update from your Kpop or IRL person. See you here when I feel like it again.

xo,
Louise
